Profile
The Greek Free / Open Source Software Society (GFOSS) is a non-profit organization, which was founded in 2008 by 25 Universities, Technological Education Institutes and Research Centres. Our major goal is to promote the use and development of Open Technologies for Education, Public Administration and Business in Greece. We, therefore, aspire to become a knowledge hub and a platform for dialogue on Free Software, Open Content & Open Hardware and their benefits. The major Greek Universities, Research Centres and Technological Institutes are members of the GFOSS, while leading members of the Greek community of Open Technologies users and developers play a major role in the implementation of our actions, through mutual cooperation and active participation.
