University “Mediterranean”, Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Montenegro and the NGO Digitalizuj. Me organized the promotion of competition for making the best software application on theme "Transparency and Responsibility". Open ideas competition for Montenegro is based on the following topics:

  •  Topic Government 2.0 treats how to use the power of technology to influence citizen activists to respect the law and solve problems and how activists can encourage governments and public institutions to work in the service of citizens.
  •  Topic Citizen 2.0 deals with how we can use the power of technology (internet, mobile technology) to improve the quality of life in our society.

After Montenegro joined the Partnership of Open Governments, which relies on the power of technology in improving transparency, new initiative "Open ideas for Montenegro" (http:otvoreneideje.me/ ) has been created.

Through conversations with citizens during the 18 workshops all around in Montenegro several issues related to how everyday life of citizens in Montenegro can be improved by using the advanced technologies have been identified. Citizen ideas and needs that are the result of the first phase of this project are presented on web page http://otvoreneideje.me/takmicenje/ and can be used by programmers for developing solutions.

This is the first in a series of events that will be organized with the support of “Homer” project in order to raise awareness about the possibilities of using Open Data.
