HOMER is involved in two events to be held both on October 7 and 8 that are a unique opportunity to compare the different points of view about the added value of Open Data for regional development.

The city of Brussels hosts, between October 6 and 9, the 12th European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days 2014). It is the biggest annual event focused entirely on regional policy and it is jointly organized by the Committee of the Regions and the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission, in collaboration with 200 regions and cities in 30 countries. In this edition, there will be more than 100 workshops and discussions on the topic "Growing together - smart investment for people".

The project of international cooperation HOMER has the opportunity to participate in two events of the Open Days 2014 with the support of the Office of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Brussels.

The first of these events takes place on October 7 and it is a Side Event called "The future of open data in the European Digital Agenda" framed within the project HOMER. On October 8, the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) organizes a Meeting Place on "Cohesion policy and open data: boosting transparency, performance and commitment". This workshop will provide a unique opportunity to compare the different points of view about the added value of the open data for regional development.
