HOMER participated in the MED Programme Annual Event called "A Cruise to the Med future" as a successful project of the European Union
HOMER (Harmonising Open data in the Mediterranean through better access and Reuse of public sector information) participated in the seminar called "A Cruise to the MED future" that took place in Lisbon (Portugal) on 23 and 24 October. This seminar has shown first-hand various successful projects included in the MED Operational Programme.
Agencia de Gestión Agraria y Pesquera de Andalucía carried out the presentation of this project, in which it is involved along with 18 other partners, and in which it is the partner responsible for communication.
For two days, community experts have been able to realise the real scope of MED projects in order to get information to build a map to the future MED Operational Programme.
The topics and actions needed, the new developments to be started and, how funds will be invested for the future cooperation in the new programming period starting in 2014, will be defined from the results obtained.
The MED programme is a transnational programme for European territorial cooperation. It is funded by the European Union as an instrument of its regional policy and of its new programming period. The geographic area of the MED programme includes countries of the EU Mediterranean area and its overall objective is to improve the competitiveness of the MED area in order to promote growth and employment for future generations and to promote territorial cohesion and environment protection consistent with sustainable development.
HOMER 19 partners are currently progressing in the two major objectives of the project: the exploitation of public information by the private sector and the improvement of citizens' access to public information in order to encourage their participation in public policies.
